| | | | | | | | | | | The British Council organised the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) for 4,500 teachers in Thailand earlier this month. They were trained using one of the British Council’s global products called TKT Essentials to help them prepare for the test. More than 20,000 Thai teachers of English have now taken the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) with the British Council since 2007. This specially designed test aims to increase teachers' confidence and strengthen the key areas of their teaching knowledge. This test also helps the Ministry of Education in identifying the English language proficiency levels of English language teaching staff and determining the next steps in the development programme for them. The project has been a success which resulted in the request from the Ministry asking the British Council to administer more tests this year. | | THE BANGKOK BIG SWITCH | | HSBC in Thailand partners with the British Embassy, British Council Thailand, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and leading business partners to launch a large-scaled environmentally-friendly project, ‘The Bangkok Big Switch’, aiming at encouraging the public to reduce the electricity consumption for alleviation of global warming challenge.
